CHRYSOSTOM OF CYPRUS LOSES HIS ... COOL

19 October 2009

Since early this morning clerics and laity have been gathering outside the hotel "Saint George" that belongs to the Holy Metropolis of Paphos holding banners with written reminders of the words of great Saints of our Church like Saint Mark the Eugenicus and Saint Cosmas as well as quotes from the Psalter.

The Confessor Christians went to the adjacent holy temple of Saint George and started to read the Psalter hoping with their prayer to avert the possibility of common prayer between Papists and Orthodox inside the temple. Their presence annoyed the "Roman Catholic" delegation but it also made the representatives of the Orthodox Churches think, greatly affecting thus the outcome of the discussions up to that point whose main theme is the primacy of the Pope!

Soon, a mere hotel employee at first but eventually the hotel manager himself asked them to abandon the temple on the grounds that it had been granted to a tourist agency whose holiday package includes the celebration of wedding ceremonies for Papists and Anglicans!!! In fact, as the hotel personnel further explained, a Papist wedding was about to take place. The revelation that an Orthodox temple is being offered to heterodox heretics for them to hold their sacraments sparked a barrage of comments about the theological levelling and the epidemic of secularisation that unfortunately has also infiltrated the Orthodox world.

The above event strengthened the opinion of those among the Confessor Christians who had claimed that their presence was needed inside the temple throughout the entire 24-hour day in order to avert the desecration of the holy place. This decision found great response from many Orthodox Christians who began to arrive in Paphos from every corner of free Cyprus in order to support the Confessors' struggle.

After all, the day before the Archbishop of Cyprus Chrysostom had appeared to be clearly annoyed from the Christians' Martyr-Confessional response, and on one hand overly defended the dialogues as if he were some trash politican and on the other (clearly afraid of possible strenghtening of the opposition) he announced severe punishments against the clerics while he taxed the resisting Christians with possessing Luciferian pride.

The response to these statements was immediate. The coordinating instrument of the Pan-Cyprian Christian Orthodox Movement (PAHOK) "Saint Nikon o Metanoite" invited the entire Cyprian Press in a news conference with the President and the General Secretary of the Pro-Orthodox Union "Cosmas Flamiatos" Laurentio DeGiorgio and Panagiotis Simatis and the Chairman of "The Pillar of Orthodoxy" Dionysios Makris as the main speakers, who had arrived in Cyprus on account of the 11th meeting between Orthodox and Papists.

A statement that was released and that we present as-is mentioned: "We wonder; who is it that keeps a Luciferian mentality; the faithful Christians who remind us of the decisions of the Ecumenical Synods or those among the high-ranking clerics and laity who violate them?". With these words, PAHOK replied to the inappropriate and inexcusable for a Head of an Orthodox Church characterisations against those faithful Christians who are troubled and strongly resist against the so-called theological dialogue between Orthodox and Papists.

In a common press conference that was held today by the offices of PAHOK, the guest speakers (invited by Greece) Laurentio DeGiorgio, President of the All-Orthodox Union "Cosmas Flamiatos" , Panagiotis Simatis, General Secretary of the above Union, and Dionysius Makris, Manager of the Ecclesiastical Newspaper "Pillar of Orthodoxy", who came to Cyprus on the occasion of the meeting for the Theological Dialogue that is taking place in Paphos, agreed that the situation presents all those elements that de facto render the so-called dialogue detrimental and dangerous for Orthodoxy. More specifically, they presented reports of high-ranking officials from the Vatican that demonstrate the self-interest hidden behind the supposed dialogues, which essentially aim at the ultimate appointment of those who have perverted the Triadic Dogma and who have unscrupulously trampled upon the Truth, as Heads of Christianity ...

And to prove their assertions, they referred to an interview of the French-speaking journal S.O.P. with Cardinal Kasper (President of the Theological Dialogue on the Papist side) whose comments had in fact caused the understandable reaction of the Orthodox Patriarchate of Moscow. Cardinal Kasper characteristically said : "In the West, we lived through an evolution that resulted in the Second Vatican Council with the determination of the primacy of power and the infallibility of the pope; a determination that the Orthodox never accepted. Discussion is needed in order for us to see how we can interpret these different developments that have occurred since [the Schism] upon the foundation of the first millenium. We must also think about how the primacy of the pope of Rome is going to function, while it must become clear to all that already there exist two Codes of Canonical Law in use for the internal affairs of the Catholic Church: one for the Latin Church and the other one for the Eastern Churches which are in full communion with Rome [= Unia] . According to these codes, the primacy is exercised in a different way in the Latin Church than it is in the Eastern Churches. We do not want to impose upon the Orthodox the system that holds in the Latin Church today. On the occasion of the restoration of a full communion, a new type of primacy needs to be found for the Orthodox Churches"!!! (taken from translation by fr. George Kapsanis)

It is for this form of the papist power's imposition that the two sides are holding a discussion today, putting aside the essential differences in matters of faith and particularly those that deal with Unia and our Triadic faith.

During the press conference proceedings, the political dimension of the subject was also presented referring to widespread "backstage" activities. For at least the past 10 years, Nicosia and Athens have been attempting to make the Pope and the Vatican an ally to their national causes and to cease their related diplomatic duplicity. It is within this framework that the press conference speakers reminded us of the Vatican's reports on Skopje and on the "Macedonian Dialect", of Skopje's request to the Vatican, the Vatican's moves on the recognition of Skopje under the name of "Macedonia" etc. They also reminded us on the ambiguous statements of the present Pope Benedict XVI on the Greek-Turkish relations, on the Cyprian problem and on the Vatican's attempts to expand to the East via the method of Unia; and so on.

Saint GeorgeReplying to a question posed by a reporter to comment on Archbishop Chrysostom's threats that all priests and monks who had been present in the demonstration-confession outside the Hotel in Paphos would be 'inflicted' with excommunication, the press conference speakers declared: "The threats, the blackmails and the inappropriate designations reveal the lack of self-control of a high-ranking cleric of our Church (who is meant to function "in type of Christ", in accordance with the oaths he has taken to uphold the Holy Canons) and furthermore they openly display his inmost fears and guilty rage. And it is precisely these elements of fear and guilt that do not walk step with the truth of Orthodoxy and the teaching of our Saviour Jesus Christ. On the contrary, they are completely identifed with the tactics, the behaviour and the mentality that characterises the demon-possessed Papist Church. In short, these are characteristics of the Pope. However, the faithful people, clergy and laity, have never stomached such Popes...".

A similar press conference was released by the Pro-Orthodox Union "Cosmas Flamiatos". The conference text mentions:

"Today, Sunday the 18th of October 2009, the Archbishop of Cyprus Chrysostom directed a salutation inside the temple of "Panaghia Revealed" in Nicosia, where the Orthodox participants of "The Mixed Committee for the Theological Dialogue" celebrated the Divine Liturgy. Of course, the members of the papist delegation were not missing, but prayed together with them. During his salutation, Mr. Chrysostom (apart from the threats he had already 'fired' yesterday for excommunication of the monks who had been present in the peaceful demonstration-confession and without asking what the cause of their protest had been in order to proceed in convening a Synodical meeting -- an event that proves that the virus of the papist mentality has infected the orthodox Hierarchs) accused the priests, monks and other faithful Christians who had demonstrated yesterday at the start of the Dialogue. He said that they have a 'Luciferian pride and they place their opinion above the opinion of the Church'.

Truly, who is it that places their opinion above the opinion of the Church and of her Synods? The one who says nothing of their own making but simply reminds the faithful and asks them to follow the Holy Canons or the one who violates them? At another point during his talk, he reminded us of that text that has become the Ecumenists' sugar candy which they constantly suck taken from the writings of Saint Mark the Eugenicus, where he consents to commencing a dialogue with the Latins of his time. However, the Archbishop omits to add -- and this constitutes a perversion of the truth -- that when Saint Mark saw the intransigence of the Papists, their insistance on their delusions and their unrepentance, he said that we must flee from the papists as one flees from snakes. In fact, the Saint himself not only did he avoid the Papists but all those who continued to converse with the Papists, namely the ecumenists of his time. As a matter of fact, St. Mark also made the following well-known remark: "I do not want the papo-philes [ecumenists today] to come either to my funeral or to my memorial services".

Your Blessedness, these are the words of St. Mark; and he said them because he had Sanctity and he had discerned the treacherous papist schemes; and he did so not after commencing repeated dialogues over the course of many decades (as in your case) but after holding conversations that lasted only a few weeks".
